Emotional wellbeing project for WS affected adults – January 2022

In January 2022, WSUK received a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund to fund a new project for WS affected adults (16+ years).

In this new project, WSUK aims to help WS affected adults to improve their emotional wellbeing over the next 12 months by providing support focused around the 5 factors that can improve health:

Connect with others

Be physically active

Learn new skills

Give to others

Take Notice

WSUK will provide:

a) Personalised 1:1 monthly support sessions (via phone/Zoom) for up to 25 WS affected adults.

b) Interactive group / peer wellbeing support sessions to provide a safe and welcoming space for WS adults to connect and help each other (via phone/Zoom).

c) Wellbeing workshops for everyone in the WS community (e.g., activities for wellbeing; Zoom). Workshop presentations will be recorded and made available on the WSUK website.

WS affected adults will be contacted by the WSUK team and asked to register their interest in participating in the personalised support and group / peer wellbeing sessions. (Note: As the wellbeing workshops will be open to everyone in the WS community, individual registration is not required).

Regular project updates will be made available on the WSUK website, Facebook page and quarterly E-Newsletters.
