WSUK joins Breaking Down Barriers Project

August 2019

WSUK is excited to announce that we will be taking part in this year’s Breaking Down Barriers Project, funded by the Sylvia Adams Charitable Trust and led by Kerry Leeson-Beevers, from Alstrom Syndrome UK.

Breaking Down Barriers is designed to help patient organisations provide effective support to families from diverse backgrounds that are affected by genetic disorders. Each organisation taking part is awarded a grant to enable them to conduct a project to help their specific multi-ethnic community. More information on Breaking Down Barriers can be found at: http://breaking-down-barriers.org.uk/

The WSUK Breaking Down Barriers project will seek to enhance the engagement with our Asian and other ethnic minority members affected by WS and their families to better understand their needs. This project will enable all of us at WSUK to be better equipped to support our families and provide more inclusive services that better meet these identified needs.

All members from Asian and other ethnic minorities will be invited to participate in the coming weeks. If you would like to be involved, please contact Tracy (admin@wolframsyndrome.co.uk).

We will be sharing further updates at each key stage of the project here and in our Newsletters.
